Ghosting takes place over social media when someone suddenly stops replying to your texts, DMs, calls or emails. There has been considerable social media hype surrounding Alderton’s debut novel due to the success of her autobiography Everything I Know About Love, in 2018.Īlderton’s latest work is a fictional exploration of the modern phenomenon of ghosting. The novel has already achieved Sunday Times bestseller status. Ghosts by Dolly Alderton was released in October 2020. ![]()

Rift by Andrea Cremer6/10/2023 ![]() The resolution leaves plenty of room for more entries. ![]() However, the highly readable prose style that captured so many fans for her trilogy is very much in evidence. Although she gets dates right, the author doesn’t bother too much with historical accuracy, using the setting mainly to provide a fantasy atmosphere. ![]() While Ember secretly yearns for Barrow and fights for Conatus, a staged wraith attack convinces some to join with Bosque Mar. Meanwhile, serious outbreaks of wraiths occur, and the group captures a sorcerer who leads one of Conatus’ leaders to Bosque Mar, a strange entity who offers the group revenge against the Abbot who has threatened Conatus. She falls for Barrow, her mentor, but Alistair also declares his love for her. Conatus accepts women as warriors, continuing the overall series’ theme of personal freedom, and Ember eagerly chooses that role. ![]() Her friend Alistair, who secretly has taught her swordplay, happily accompanies her when she joins Conatus, a successor group to the Knights Templar that protects the world from evil supernatural forces such as hobgoblins. Sixteen-year-old Ember, from a noble family, yearns to become a warrior instead of a wife. Readers won’t find any hint of paranormal wolves here. This prequel to the popular Nightshade trilogy takes readers to Scotland in 1404, where the Searchers and Keepers conflict begins. ![]()

Exhalation short story6/8/2023 ![]() ![]() What does it mean to be good? How can a person lead a moral life? Is it a matter of determined application of free will? Is your will determined for you? ![]() Within this gap, questions begin to be asked. Religion, and the avenue toward belief, is a black box. ![]() In the absence of evidence-from scripture, correspondence, or official doctrine-there is at least an absolute ambiguity. Ambiguity is imbued into every type of belief: the upper limit of what is known is the beginning boundary of faith. The spiritual answers to these questions differ from the historical ones. I was more interested in, say, the practical reality of guardian angels, what the Roman soldier who pierced Jesus’s side on the cross did when he returned home that day, the thorniness of free will given by an omniscient god. Few theological lessons stuck with me through eight years of Catholic school, at least not the ones my teachers would have liked. ![]()
